Four Institutes Moot

The Four Institutes Moot (‘FIM’) is a series of three competitions between the following universities: BPP University, Inns of Court College of Advocacy, the University of Law, and City University of London.

There are three cups under the FIM: criminal cup, civil cup, and a speciality cup (different area of law per season).

Potential areas of law for the speciality cup are Medical, Media, Chancery, Judicial Review, and more.

As various students enter their BVS journey without formal advocacy experience, we believe the Four Institutes Moot would be a vital experience that would be valuable to their pupillage applications. 

The following dates have been set for the next season:

  • R1: Apr 2025 (at Inner Temple)

  • R2: May 2025 (at Inner Temple)

  • Finals: June 2025 (at the UK Supreme Court)

Eligibility: open to students with prior mooting experience

Selection: Internal selection process
