What are the benefits of joining?

.Our society provides a variety of activities for our members and ensure the main practice areas of law are available for those seeking to gain experience, meet and connect with individuals or enhance their advocacy skills. We cater to provide a platform for Juniors who seek entry-level experiences and understand the world of legal practice and Seniors who want an extra push to their limits with more advanced experiences. Collaborations with legal practitioners and established law firms, our panel events bring together professionals and aspiring lawyers for enlightening public talks, skills development sessions and employment days/opportunities, hosting valuable connections and sharing experiences or knowledge.


What is the time commitment to be a member of the society?

Members will receive comprehensive guidance in drafting legal documents, such as skeletons and bundles, and delivering oral submissions, regardless of previous experience. While work or assignments are not mandatory unless for participation in competitions, working in teams to solve problem questions and draft submissions is highly encouraged. Active engagement in society events is advised, but members are solely responsible for assigned tasks related to moots and workshops. These tasks may include creating and providing documents within specified time limits, with non-compliance resulting in event suspension. Given the time and effort required for activities, members facing difficulties are encouraged to inform us promptly for withdrawal or alternate assignment options

What are the main competitions that the society participates in?

This is a speculative and limited list which is subject to change, without prior notice, and dependent to each Academic Year. The eligibity for each individual competitions may be different and interested registrants will be informed of their eligibility. The following events took place in Academic Year 2022-23:

Do I need previous mooting experience to join the society?

No previous experience is required. Introduction to Mooting Workshops will be available in providing oral arguments, writing a bundle, and using court lingo. Advanced workshops will also be available for those who want to increase the difficulty and participate in senior moots, debates, negotiations.

Do I need to be a member of the society to participate in mooting?

Yes, you must a member of the society to participate in society hosted events. However, you do not have to be a member to participate in mooting. When and where other society events are open to non-members the events details will specify the eligibility.
